Job Description:

AutomateNexus helps small and medium businesses save 20+ hours weekly through done-for-you AI automation. We’re looking for an AI Automation Consultant to join our delivery team—someone who loves solving business problems with technology and can translate client needs into elegant, automated workflows.

As an AI Automation Consultant, you’ll work directly with clients to understand their operations, identify automation opportunities, and build solutions that deliver immediate ROI. You’ll become a trusted advisor to business owners—helping them see what’s possible when AI meets smart process design. From CRM integrations to AI-powered document processing to multi-step workflow automations, you’ll build systems that transform how our clients run their businesses.

This role is ideal for a problem-solver who’s equal parts technical and consultative. You’re comfortable jumping on a call with a client to map their processes, then spending the afternoon building a sophisticated automation in Make or n8n. You take pride in delivering solutions that just work—and you get genuine satisfaction from helping small businesses compete at an enterprise level.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Discovery & Strategy

    • Lead discovery calls to understand client workflows, pain points, and business goals
    • Identify high-impact automation opportunities and prioritize based on ROI potential
    • Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications
    • Present automation strategies and recommendations to clients in accessible, non-technical language

    Solution Design & Implementation

    • Design and build automation workflows using platforms like Make, Zapier, n8n, and custom integrations
    • Implement AI-powered solutions including document processing, data extraction, chatbots, and intelligent routing
    • Integrate automations with client tech stacks (CRMs, ERPs, accounting software, communication tools)
    • Build error handling, logging, and monitoring to ensure automations run reliably at scale

    Delivery & Support

    • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within scope
    • Create documentation, training materials, and SOPs for client handoff
    • Provide post-launch support, troubleshooting, and optimization
    • Proactively identify opportunities to expand automation within existing client accounts

    Continuous Improvement

    • Stay current on automation platforms, AI tools, and emerging technologies
    • Contribute to internal knowledge base, templates, and reusable automation components
    • Share learnings and best practices with the team
    • Provide feedback to leadership on service offerings and client needs

Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3+ years experience in automation, integration development, or technical consulting
    • Hands-on proficiency with automation platforms (Make/Integromat, Zapier, n8n, Power Automate)
    • Experience integrating with common business tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
    • Understanding of APIs, webhooks, and data formats (JSON, XML)
    • Familiarity with AI tools and capabilities (ChatGPT, Claude, document AI, transcription services)
    • Strong client-facing communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
    • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently

    Bonus Points:

    • Experience with scripting or light development (Python, JavaScript)
    • Background in business process improvement or operations consulting
    • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL
    • Experience working with SMB clients
    • Certifications in automation platforms (Make, Zapier, etc.)
