/ 01 · The challenge
Every month, the firm's accountants spent days pulling numbers from QuickBooks, Xero, bank feeds, and client spreadsheets, then hand-assembling them into formatted reports. The work was skilled-labor-expensive and error-prone in exactly the way copy-paste work always is.
Clients waited longer than they should have for their numbers, and the firm's most experienced people were spending the first week of every month compiling rather than advising. Growth was capped not by demand but by reporting throughput.
/ 02 · The build
We implemented an automated financial reporting pipeline that pulls data directly from each client's accounting platforms, applies the firm's standardized calculations and adjustments, and generates polished, client-ready reports in the firm's format.
Accountants moved from assemblers to reviewers. Each report arrives complete with source data linked, so a reviewer can verify any figure in seconds before it goes to the client.
/ 03 · The results
The monthly reporting cycle dropped from five days to one. Manual data entry errors — previously a recurring source of client-facing corrections — were eliminated entirely, since no number is ever retyped.
Each accountant recovered 30 or more hours per month. The firm converted that capacity into growth, taking on 40% more clients without hiring, and repositioned its senior staff toward advisory work that bills at a premium.

The reporting automation has completely transformed our firm. We've reclaimed countless hours and can now focus on providing strategic advice rather than compiling numbers.
